Memorial demonstration in memory of Abir Aramin

Tomorrow, Sunday January 20th, students of all 3 schools in Anata will hold a memorial demonstration for 10 year old Abir Aramin. Abir was shot by a border police officer on Tuesday morning outside of school. On Thursday evening Abir died from her injuries and was buried in East Jerusalem on Friday afternoon.

Abir's schoolmates and the students of the 2 other schools in Anata wish to conduct a memorial demonstration on Sunday. The demonstration will start at the Anata Girls School at 10:30. Anata residents and students have invited the Israeli and international peace activists to participate in the demonstration.

The students and residents will also demand the authorities to take out the Border Police and IDF forces from the school area of Anata. Since the completion of the wall construction a few months ago the presence of the soldiers near the schools is only a violent provocation. The killing of Abir demonstrates the tragic results of this pointless presence.

עצרת זיכרון לזכרה של עביר עראמין

מחר, יום א' ה-20 לינואר, יקיימו תלמידי שלושת בתי הספר שבכפר ענאתא יחד עם תושבי הכפר עצרת זיכרון לעביר עראמין בת ה-10 שנהרגה מירי של שוטר מג"ב. עביר יצאה מבית ספרה ביום שלישי האחרון ונפגעה מירי של כוח מג"ב שהיה בתוך ג'יפ על הכביש מחוץ לבית הספר. עביר נלחמה על חייה במשך יומיים אך ביום חמישי בערב מתה מפצעיה בבית החולים הדסה עין-כרם שבירושלים.

חברותיה לבית הספר, כמו גם שני בתי הספר הסמוכים, מבקשים לקיים עצרת זיכרון ביום א'. תלמידי בתי הספר ותושבי הכפר ייצאו לתהלוכה קצרה מבית הספר בשעה 10:30 בבוקר. תושבי ענאתא והתלמידים מזמינים את פעילי השלום הישראלים ובינלאומיים להצטרף לעצרת.

התלמידים והתושבים גם ידרשו את ההוצאה המיידית של כוח מג"ב וכוח צה"ל מאיזור בתי הספר בענאתא. משנשלמו עבודות הגדר מזה מספר חודשים באזור זה, כל נוכחות של כוח מג"ב או צה"ל היא רק פרבוקציה אלימה ומיותרת. המקרה של עביר ממחיש את המחיר הנורא של נוכחות מיותרת זו.
