The Olive Tree Movement
Objective and intentions
We, the members and activists of The Olive Tree Movement, view every child’s right to grow and develop in loving and supportive environment free of threats as un-assailable and un-compromised.
We all view the continuous compromise of the safety and welfare of Palestinian children as unacceptable and foul, and we actively work to correct it through our engagement in Palestinian communities.
The objective and intentions of the Olive Tree Movement are:
working with Palestinian children through help and guidance in building computer rooms for children in Palestinian communities, organizing summer camps, safely and comfortably drive children to treatment in Israeli hospitals, visiting and supporting children and family members staying for treatment I Israeli hospitals, helping with and initiating agricultural work – through helping or initiating new agricultural opportunities, and joining Palestinian farmers in their fields to deter attacks on them, and continuously taking part in the daily and cultural life of the communities we visit.
We see as most important the personal contact we create and maintain with the children, youth and adults we meet through our work, and with it the creation of connection, of understanding, and of life shared with the Palestinian society.
Creating and maintaining that connection is the purpose and frame-work of our movement.
הגדרת מטרות עמותת עץ הזית
אנו, פעילות ופעילי עמותת עץ הזית, רואים בזכותם של כל ילדה וילד לגדול ולהתפתח בסביבה אוהבת, תומכת, וחפשיה מאיומים כבילתי ניתנת לעירעור ופגיעה.
כולנו רואים בפגיעה המתמשכת בשלומם וברווחתם של ילדי פלשתין עוולה שאיננה מתקבלת על דעתנו ואין אנו מוכנים לשבת מנגד ולא לפעול לתיקונה.
מטרת העמותה היא להתרכז בעבודה עם ילדי פלשתין דרך מתן הדרכה ועזרה בהקמת מועדוני מחשב לילדים, ארגון מחנות קיץ, הסעת ילדים באופן שליו ובטוח לבתי חולים בישראל, ביקור ילדים ותמיכה במשפחותיהם השוהים בבתי חולים בישראל, יזמות והשתתפות בפעילויות חקלאיות – בין אם בפיתוח אפשרויות עיבוד חקלאיות חדשות, או השתתפות בהגנת חקלאים בעבוד אדמותיהם, והשתתפות בהווי החיים במקומות אליהם אנו מגיעים.
אנו רואים כחשובה ביותר את יצירת הקשר האישי עם בני הנוער והמבוגרים איתם אנו באים במגע בעבודתנו, ואיתו את יצירת תשתית הקשר, ההבנה, והחיים המשותפים עם החברה הפלשתינאית.
יצירת קשר זה ושמירתו היא מטרתה ומסגרת עבודתה של העמותה.
